The Garden Clubs of Illinois currently has approximately 6500 members in 146 clubs, an additional 12 affiliate plant societies, arboretums and similar organizations, and 3 Junior Clubs in Illinois. Founded in 1925, we are a charter member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., an international organization that is the largest volunteer gardening organization in the world. Marilyn Krueger was elected the GCI State President at the 2021 state convention. She will hold a two year term (2021-2023). Her theme is:
"Plant America... Starting at Home".
President Krueger is continuing the effort to establish a Discovery Children's Garden in the Lincoln Memorial Garden in Springfield as well the Pollinator and Youth President's Projects.

In cooperation with National Garden Clubs, Inc., The Garden Clubs of Illinois, Inc. provides education, resources, and additional networking opportunities for its members to promote the love of gardening, floral design, civic beautification and development, and environmental responsibility.
